Today, we had the honour of welcoming Anna from Sheffield and her friend Louiza from Berlin, but originally from Brazil. Louisa traveled over to Sheffield from Germany after following us on social media and is quite keen to set up a Black and People of Colour walking group similar to our Walk4 Health Group in Berlin.
Trustees Donald McClean, Mark Hutchinson & Managing Director Maxwell Ayamba led Anna and Louiza on a walk at the Moorland Discovery Centre, Fox Houses this morning. Louiza spoke about a different kind of racism in Germany but is still quite keen to carry on with this great idea.
She’s very pleased to learn how the 100 Black Men Walk for Health Group, the first pioneering Black walking group in the UK has inspired the rise of other Black and POC walking groups across the UK and hope she can emulate the same initiative in Berlin.
